Controll3r fits work where software-only remote access is unavailable, unreliable, or not allowed.
System Recovery
Use the live console for firmware setup, boot menus, recovery media, local installers, locked operating systems, and machines with broken network access. The target needs a video output and a USB port.
Deployment and Imaging
For repeated setup work across similar machines, Controll3r keeps the operator on the hardware path while reducing manual repetition with paste-as-typing, snippets, shortcuts, saved sessions, recording, and Visual Anchor macros.
Firmware, BIOS, and UEFI Validation
Firmware workflows often happen before drivers, agents, remote desktop services, or target networking exist. Controll3r works at the keyboard, pointer, and monitor layer, which is the layer BIOS and UEFI setup already use.
Lab Automation
Headless mode and the REST API let a saved operator setup join lab workflows. API clients can check health, collect screenshots, upload macros, and start macro playback with bearer-token authentication.
Air-Gapped and Restricted Targets
Local operation does not require a target network connection. The operator can still capture the screen, type controlled input, run OCR locally, and record evidence without deploying target-side software.
When Not To Use It
If the target operating system is healthy, reachable, and already supports a high-bandwidth remote desktop tool, that tool may be simpler. Controll3r is for the layer beneath those tools and for jobs that need physical keyboard, pointer, and monitor behavior.
